RCR Wireless News announced finalists for its second annual 4G Ecosystem Awards. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m. Oct. 19 at the RCR Buzz Zone during 4G World in Chicago.
“We were thrilled by the quality of nominations we received this year,” said RCR Wireless News Publisher Jeff Mucci. “The purpose of the awards program is to recognize leadership across the wireless ecosystem as the industry moves toward all-IP-based networks. We had 130 nominations across 12 categories, proving that next-generation wireless technologies are quickly moving from vision to reality.”
In the 4G Enabling Technology Innovations category, finalists are : Andrew Solutions; BelAir Networks and HTC Corp.
In the 4G Infrastructure OEM category; finalists are: Huawei Technologies Inc., Stoke and ZTE Corp.
In the Global 4G Operator Deployment category, finalists are: Clearwire Corp., Towerstream and Yota.
In the Mobile Chip Company category, finalists are: Beceem, Mindspeed and Sequans.
In the Mobile Internet Devices Company category, finalists are: Isabella Products, Moog and Motorola Inc.
In the Tower Company category, finalists are: Crown Castle and TowerCo.
In the 4G Infrastructure Services Company, finalists are: Anritsu, Crown Castle and Ixia.
In the Mobile Application category, finalists are: AT&T Business Solutions, Diversinet and Nuance.
In the Mobile Content Provider category, finalists are: SEVEN, The Weather Channel and Vantrix.
In the Mobile Marketing Campaign category, finalists are: Mobile Giving Foundation, Scanbuy and Waterfall Mobile.
In the Overall Wireless Ecosystem/Supply Chain, finalists are: 4G Americas, Alcatel-Lucent and the GSMA.
In the Specialty Deployment category, finalists are: Bridgewave Communications, Globecomm Systems and Spectrum Bridge.
Judges for the awards included RCR Wireless News editorial staff, as well as analyst Peter Jarich from Current Analysis; Iain Gillott, of iGR Research and Andy Mitchell from the Yankee Group.
