Enterasys Networks aims to double wireless sales with the worldwide launch of its Wi-Fi portfolio, IdentiFi, aimed at enterprises deluged with an influx of employee-owned devices in the workplace. Globally, BYOD has affected enterprises and has imposed challenges for IT departments. “This trend is here to stay,” says Reinaldo Opice, vice president for Enterasys’ Latin America region. In a video interview with RCR Wireless Opice said that the company hopes to repeat its previous success in wireless.
“We are now expecting to double again worldwide sales. And it is also bringing to us new customers. Last year, our customer base increased 56%,” he said.
Opice noted that with IdentiFi, Enterasys will focus on medium and large enterprises, as well as on three verticals: education, hospitals and stadiums, because they have specific needs.
According to him, the new portfolio offers a full solution to manage the access of all consumer devices with a lot more security. “It identifies up to 50 aspects, such as who is the user, what’s the device and the operating systems, so the system administrator can control what to allow users to do.”
