GEOTEK REPORTS INCREASE IN NINE-MONTH REVENUES

MONTVALE, N.J.-Geotek Communications Inc. reported a 50 percent increase in consolidated revenues for the nine months ended Sept. 30. The company reported $49.4 million in consolidated revenues, up from $32.9 million for the same period in 1993.

Total revenues for the quarter were $17.6 million, up 14.3 percent from the same period last year when revenues totaled $15.4 million.

Net losses for the company also improved this reporting period. Net losses for the nine months were $28.4 million, down from $44.6 million for the like period last year, and $12.1 million for the last quarter, down from $37.9 million during the same period a year ago.

AMS announces increase of 34 percent in quarter

FAIRFAX, Va.-American Management Systems Inc. reported third quarter earnings of $5.8 million, or 33 cents per share, on revenues of $119.1 million. This compares with 1993 third quarter earnings that totalled $3.1 million on revenues of $89 million for the same period.

Nine month earnings were $16.1 million, or 94 cents per share, on revenues of $329.2 million. This compares to earnings of $10.9 million on $267.1 million in revenue in 1993. The company said significant revenue increases in the telecommunications and financial institution markets, as well as a weak third quarter in 1993, contributed to third quarter 1994 earnings.

Spectrum net loss totals $3.37 million for period

MANHASSET, N.Y.-Spectrum Information Technologies Inc. reported a net loss of $3.37 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, a 15 percent increase compared to its reported net loss of $2.93 million for the same period one year ago.

Net revenues totaled $23.7 million for the quarter, a 15 percent increase from $20.6 million reported in the corresponding period in 1993. The increase was due primarily to increased revenues at Computer Bay, the company’s computer reseller subsidiary, and the acquisition of Spectrum Global, Spectrum reported.

Net revenues on the rise for USA Mobile company

CINCINNATI-USA Mobile Communications Holdings Inc. announced a 26.5 percent increase in net revenue to $14.6 million compared with $11.5 million for the same quarter in 1993.

Net revenue for the quarter tallied $14.6 million, a 26.5 percent increase from the corresponding period 1993. Net losses for the paging operator totaled $1.7 million, or 16 cents per share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared to $578,000, or 11 cents per share, for the same quarter last year.

USA Mobile reports that per share results for the 1994 period reflect a 106 percent increase in weighted average number of common shares outstanding due to the company’s initial public offering in February.

Pagers in service increased 41.2 percent to 470,807 for the quarter, compared to 333,374 last year.

The company is in the process of completing purchases of five other paging carriers.

InterDigital revenuse up 192 percent in quarter

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-InterDigital Communications Corp. reported net revenue of $8.1 million, a 192.6 percent boost from third quarter 1993, and revenue for the nine month period at $14.6 million, up 40.6 percent.

Net loss for the quarter was $6.4 million compared to $6 million in 1993, and for the nine months $18.3 million from $18.1 million last year.

Contributing significantly to third quarter revenues were shipments of InterDigital’s UltraPhone systems to Russia and Myanmar, as well as a $14.9 million Indonesian order, and licensing revenue related primarily to the company’s patent license agreement with Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd.
