JUDGE RULES FOR TELULAR IN PATENT INFRINGEMENT

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill.-Telular Corp. said a Chicago federal judge ruled in the company’s favor recently in a patent infringement suit between Telular and Versus Technology Co.

The dispute hinged around Versus’ CAT 2001 cellular alarm transmission product business, which competes with Telular’s Adcor Security Product subsidiary.

The court ordered Versus to transfer its CAT 2001 products, business and other assets to Telular in lieu of damages. Telular Chairman William DeNicolo said, “The successful conclusion of this lawsuit is welcomed by Telular and should yield a positive sales and earnings impact for our Adcor subsidiary.”

Telular began this year with three separate patent infringement complaints. One case was resolved in Telular’s favor this summer in Los Angeles. In the Versus case, the court also dismissed counterclaims of infringement argued by Versus, Telular said. A third complaint remains pending.
