METROCALL’S BROCK DROPS LAWSUIT AGAINST COMPANY

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Metrocall Inc. said that Harry L. Brock Jr. has withdrawn his request to be reinstated as company president, as well as his complaint against certain directors of the company.

Brock filed a lawsuit against Metrocall directors earlier this month after a majority of the board of directors voted not to reappoint him as president of the company. Brock remains chairman of the paging operator.

Metrocall said the board removed Brock as president because his role at the company had evolved into that of an “investor chairman,” noting that Brock changed his legal residence to Nevada, which reduced his time involved in day-to-day management duties at Alexandria, Va.-based Metrocall.

“We are pleased that the issues that were the subject of Mr. Brock’s complaint have been amicably resolved, and that the company, its board of directors and its management can now focus 100 percent of their attention on our shared objective of building Metrocall’s value for our shareholders, customers and employees.”
