DALLAS-Westlink Paging Inc. and Paging Network Inc. have entered into reciprocal agreements to provide the other’s paging services in specific market areas, announced PageNet.
PageNet’s network covers broad geographic areas covering more than 90 percent of the U.S. population, said the company. But while its transmission system covers heavy business travel areas, it does not currently provide local paging service in certain smaller towns within those areas. In those towns where Westlink is present, PageNet will sell Westlink service when appropriate, the company said.
Westlink of San Diego plans to resell PageNet’s local paging service and nationwide service-called Westlink USA-in areas of the United States where PageNet does not offer service. Westlink will be supported by PageNet’s customer service center in Dallas.
