LAS VEGAS-JRC International Inc. and ReadyCom Inc. have signed a letter of intent under which JRC will develop and produce handsets for the launch of ReadyCom’s Ready Talk two-way wireless voice and messaging service this year.
JRC and ReadyCom will adapt JRC’s model PTR 870 portable cellular phone to produce the Ready Talk handset, which receives, stores and sends voice messages. Development efforts will focus on two products-a Ready Talk two-way voice messaging handset with limited cellular telephone capability, and the same technology in a full-featured phone.
ReadyCom will soon begin commercial testing of its Ready Talk wireless voice messaging service in four markets-Philadelphia, Cleveland, Mobile, Ala., and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
