JACKSON, Miss.-Hewlett-Packard Co., SkyTel Corp. and Etak Corp. announced they have joined forces to help visitors coming to Atlanta for the Olympic Games to get travel information faster and easier.
The companies have developed the Personal Travel Guide which consists of an HP 200LX Palmtop personal computer and a SkyTel 2-Way pager. Installed in the palmtop on a SanDisk flash data storage card is Etak’s complete digital street map of Atlanta.
The companies said travelers will be able to receive live traffic reports, send and receive SkyTel 2-Way messages, find addresses and turn-by-turn directions to any location, as well as alternate means of transportation.
