Don Winters has been named vice president of business development at Coral Systems Inc. Winters will be responsible for all business development efforts, including Coral’s partnership with Cincinnati Bell Information Systems. Prior to joining the company, he held several key positions at AirTouch Communications Inc., including managing director or corporate technology, director of technology transfer and director of network management systems.

Nextel Communications Inc. announced Robert Trenchard has joined the company as chief information officer. Trenchard comes to Nextel from Sony Corporation of America, where he most recently served as vice president of management information systems.

Open Development Corp. announced it has promoted four executives to oversee its software development, business alliance, customer service and channel sales activities. David C. Horton has been named vice president of development. In his new position, he has overall responsibility for design, development and testing of all ODC’s new openMedia products. Horton previously served as director of development and engineering.

Richard Metz is now vice president of business development. He will identify new business opportunities and develop business partnerships with key channel marketing partners. Metz was general manager of ODC’s western region prior to this appointment.

The company named Dominic F. Sestito, formerly director of customer support, vice president of customer service. Sestito’s responsibilities will include developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive customer support program designed to service ODC’s customer base 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week.

Gordon A. Arthur has been appointed director of channel sales. Arthur will manage the company’s account executives, support the sales channel partners and develop new strategic partnerships for licensing and reselling ODC’s software. Arthur formerly was the company’s director of business development.

Telular Corp. has named Frank J.M. Ten Brink senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Telular, Ten Brink was vice president and chief financial officer of Hexacomb Corp. from 1991 to 1995, until its purchase by Tenneco Packaging.
