Photocomm Inc. of Scottsdale, Ariz., has been awarded a $3 million contract from Motorola Inc. for 831 solar electric systems to power a wireless communications project in Indonesia. Photocomm said its solar systems will provide power to an extensive communications network linking remote sites in the rain forest region for the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry. The order is scheduled to be shipped in August and September.

Comtrack, a division of Systems & Electronics Inc., announced its Quicktrak, a multi-task vehicle management and communications system, has proven effective in Latin America for stolen vehicle recovery, fleet management and personal security. Using a silent radio signal alert that is activated as soon as a thief enters a vehicle, the Quicktrak security bureau immediately begins tracking vehicle movement and location on a digitized map.

Mobile Telecommunication Technologies Corp. and its partners, Motorola Ltd. and Mercury Communications, have completed the sale of Mercury Paging Ltd., a United Kingdom-based paging company, to a group of investors. Mtel said it received net proceeds in excess of $26 million for its 29 percent stake in the venture.

L.M. Ericsson has signed a contract with PTT of Bosnia-Herzegovina for a turnkey mobile telephone system based on Global System for Mobile communications technology. In the initial phase, the system will cover Sarajevo and three other major cities with a capacity to serve 20,000 subscribers, said Ericsson.

Customers of German cellular operator Mannesmann Mobilfunk GmbH in Germany now have access to Brite Voice Systems’ QuickCheck Service. Brite Voice said customers can call a number to retrieve billing information. The system calculates the call costs, tells customers the actual state of their accounts and provides them with a complete statement. If more information is needed, customers have the option of receiving detailed statement information via their telephone display, said Brite Voice.

The Titan Corp. announced its wholly owned subsidiary, Titan Information Systems Corp., has received a contract from United Communication Industry Public Company Ltd. of Bangkok, Thailand, to provide its DAMALink network management system and satellite communications components to be integrated into a communications network. The system and components will provide voice, data and fax service for the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives.

Motorola Inc.’s Land Mobile Products Sector has commercially introduced an integrated Dispatch Enhanced Network system in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Movicom, a provider of wireless services in Latin America, last year awarded a contract to Motorola for a wireless digital network. The 25-site network is designed to provide communications coverage throughout Buenos Aires.
