SAN FRANCISCO-AirTouch Paging, a subsidiary of AirTouch Communications Inc., is offering Internet paging access to its 2.6 million customers nationwide.
All AirTouch Paging customers now can receive e-mail messages sent to their pagers from anywhere in the world. AirTouch said Internet users can send a message toll-free by addressing it to the subscriber’s 10-digit phone number. There is no additional charge for the service and AirTouch does not require a personal identification number.
The company said a message can be sent directly to a subscriber’s pager without going through a paging company operator or installing special computer software.
