STOCKHOLM, Sweden-Telia, the Swedish based telecommunications operator, has chosen L.M. Ericsson to be the main supplier of switching equipment for Telia’s expanded home market in the Nordic countries. The general purchasing agreement runs until the end of 1997 and is valued at approximately $15 million.
Under a second agreement, Ericsson will handle Telia’s spare parts management of switches with its new Spare Parts Management Services.
According to a third agreement, Ericsson will upgrade 40 of Telia’s national and international AXE transit switches with new improved functionality, such as within the field of Intelligent Networks. The new functionalities will support both the fixed and mobile networks of Telia.
