FORT WORTH, Texas-Motorola Inc.’s Advanced Messaging Group announced it has upgraded its Dallas/Fort Worth advanced messaging test system using narrowband personal communications services software to support both InFLEXion and ReFLEX25 advanced messaging capabilities.
The newly integrated test system successfully transmitted and confirmed receipt of a message to an automatically registered ReFLEX25 personal communicator.
In June, the Wireless Concert!, Motorola’s end-to-end advanced messaging solution, processed InFLEXion voice pages to multiple Tenor voice communicators across a 40-mile area in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The Wireless Concert! includes the Wireless Message Gateway paging gateway, RF-Conductor! network controller, RF-Orchestra! linear base station and RF-Audience! base receiver.
The company said ReFLEX technology enables service providers to maximize system capacity and take advantage of frequency reuse, while the InFLEXion technology supports high-speed data and voice messaging.
“The newly added software enables sophisticated frequency reuse algorithms to maximize system capacity,” said Pat Koons, vice president and general manager of Motorola’s Advanced Messaging Division. “We’re pleased with the progress that has been made to bring these extremely complex and sophisticated technologies from concept to reality.”
