MELBOURNE, Fla.-AirNet Communications Corp. announced it will supply personal communications services wireless infrastructure equipment and services to Kentucky-based SouthEast Telephone Ltd., a license winner in the Federal Communication Commission’s PCS C-block auction.
SouthEast Telephone has obtained licenses to provide PCS service in six basic trading areas in Kentucky beginning the first quarter of 1997.
The company has opted for Global System for Mobile communications-based technology for its PCS-1900 network, which will support 100,000 subscribers, the company said.
Under the agreement, AirNet will supply and install the system, including the AirNet Range Extender-1000, which can extend the range of a single AirNet Broadband Transceiver System.
