SAN DIEGO-The National Dispatch Center Inc. and Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products NV have established NDC Voice Corp., which will develop and provide state-of-the-art wireless and wireline voice services worldwide.
NDC said the new company will release its initial wireless voice services including voice paging, smartphone voice messaging and low-earth-orbit satellite voice messaging next year.
Wireline services planned include computer voice mail, international voice mail via the Internet and international Internet telephone calls.
The company’s voice paging will allow carriers and resellers to offer voice paging initially over one-way FLEX paging channels, and later over ERMES paging channels, the company said.
NDC provides wireless messaging dispatch and information services in the United States, including bilingual operator dispatch services, one number services and value-added wireless information services. Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products develops speech technologies for commercial applications.
Pol Hauspie, managing director of L&H said, “The goal of NDC Voice Corp. is to make these wireless and wireline voice services so easy to use, and so inexpensive, that virtually everyone will want to use them.”
