DALLAS-ProNet Inc. completed a merger with California-based CalPage, and acquired Georgia-based Georgialina Communication Co. and its affiliates. The acquisitions represent an addition of 72,000 subscribers for ProNet.
The CalPage acquisition was completed for about $17.2 million and added more than 45,000 subscribers.
Georgialina was acquired for around $11.4 million, paid in cash at closing. It added more than 27,000 subscribers.
ProNet will use the CalPage assets as a foundation for its West SuperCenter as well as a strong infrastructure in California with a statewide FLEX system, said Jackie Kimzey, ProNet chairman and chief executive officer.
