DALLAS-Northern Telecom Inc. added fax messaging and voice mail applications to its Norstar-PLUS system. Voice messaging applications allow users to reply to messages with one-touch callback, turn call forwarding on or off remotely from a tone-dialing telephone and set up guest mailboxes to keep in touch with clients and suppliers.
Fax capabilities include retrieving voice and fax messages in a single call, sending faxes to group distribution lists, storing confidential faxes in a private mailbox and offering callers the option of attaching voice messages to faxed documents. Both applications use Calling Line Identification to capture information about callers, Nortel said. The applications are available from authorized Norstar distributors.
