Xypoint Corp. named Jane Bissonnette director of 911 services. She will be responsible for developing the company’s wireless enhanced 911 products, maintaining relationships with the public safety community and tracking industry standards and issues. Bissonnette previously was a project director at AT&T Wireless Services Inc., where she served as the company’s expert on wireless 911 issues.

Christer Gullstrand is GTE Telecommunication Services Inc.’s new Global System for Mobile communications services director. He will be responsible for GTE Telecommunication’s sales and marketing activities in the Asia/Pacific region. Prior to joining the company, Gullstrand spent two years in operations and product and business development for the European-based Multinational Automated Clearing House, which provides clearing services for GSM operators. He also served as document editor for the Transferred Account Data Interchange Group.

The board of directors of BellSouth Corp. named Richard A. Anderson to the newly created position of vice president of marketing. He will be responsible for consolidating the company’s offerings including local and long-distance, cellular, personal communications, wireless data and Internet services into a package of services. Anderson, currently president of BellSouth Business Systems, will assume the new position Jan. 1. He has been with the company since 1981.

James F. Kelly is American Paging Inc.’s new vice president of sales, marketing and field operations. He will be responsible for supervising the company’s field sales functions. In addition, he will supervise all customer support functions, including the company’s Customer Telecare Center in Oklahoma City. Most recently, Kelly was vice president of sales and marketing for Jostens Inc., a company that provides achievement and recognition awards. “Jim’s experience with brand management and product development as well as operations improvements will be critical to improving American Paging’s customer and service revenue growth,” said Terry Sullivan, president and chief executive officer of American Paging.

Dan Hanson is the new vice president of development for National Telemanagement Corp. Hanson previously worked with the company on a contract basis to develop prepay wireless service and real-time billing. He will now have overall responsibility for development and platform management within the company’s wireless division, including American Roaming Network and SmartPay Wireless services. Hanson joins National Telemanagement after serving as president and chief executive officer of Micronyx, a security software development company.

The Phoenix Wireless Group appointed Robert J. Keller business development manager for the African and Middle Eastern regions. Most recently, Keller was regional manager of sales business development for LCC International Inc., an RF engineering consulting company. While there, he was responsible for developing business in Africa, the Middle East and India. In addition, Phoenix Wireless named Tom Yang product manager. Previously Yang was product manager for the telecommunications group at Watkins Johnson of Gaithersburg, Md., and systems engineering group leader for Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group.

As part of an expansion of its marketing staff, TekNow Inc. named Russ B. Carpenter director of marketing and Carrie Everett marketing coordinator. Carpenter will supervise the company’s worldwide product marketing activities, including the launch of new products. Prior to joining the company, he was product manager for HiTecSoft Inc., where he was responsible for development and introduction of all new products. Everett, who most recently was a marketing communications specialist for Viasoft Inc., will coordinate marketing communications projects. TekNow also named Kathy Hodge-Woodward eastern regional sales manager and Monte Russo western regional sales manager. Hodge-Woodward was regional sales manager of the mid-Atlantic states for Glenayre Electronics prior to joining TekNow. Russo most recently was northeastern regional sales manager for Glenayre Electronics.
