Paging Network Inc. appointed Steven Cadwell vice president of national accounts to lead its National Accounts Direct division, which provides customized customer service, billing and pager distribution. Prior to joining PageNet, Cadwell served in various sales and marketing positions during a 17-year tenure with GTE Telephone Operations. Most recently he was GTE Telephone Operation’s national manager of wireless.
Comcast Cellular Communications Inc. appointed three new directors to its marketing management team. The company named Alison Auerbach was named director of business development and will be responsible for developing and implementing new wireless communications strategies. Prior to joining Comcast, Auerbach held marketing and planning positions with Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile. Andrew Goldberg also was named director of business development. He has been involved with Comcast’s `Group Talk’ product and played a role in Comcast’s recent investment in a nationwide operator services company. Mark DeCaro was promoted to director of project development. He will be responsible for building and implementing the project management process including supervising all the company’s project management teams, and helping with new product launches.
BellSouth Corp. named W. Patrick Shannon vice president and comptroller, with responsibility for all corporate accounting and tax matters. Previously, Shannon held various financial positions with U S West Inc., most recently as chief financial officer of Media One, U S West’s cable operation in Atlanta. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia and is a certified public accountant.
Brian Ray Jones was named vice president of Castle Tower Corp.’s administration and operations. He will be responsible for development and implementation of the company’s operational and financial processes. Before joining the company, Jones was senior manager with KPMG Peat Marwick’s consulting group, where he was responsible for designing operations and finance procedures for client companies.
Scott R. Bocklund has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of E.F. Johnson Co. Most recently he was vice president of finance and chief financial officer of the company. Bocklund, a certified public accountant, joined the company in 1989 as corporate controller, and in 1992 he was appointed to vice president. Previously, he held finance positions at IDS/American Express, Minnesota Mutual Life and Diversified Energies.
The company also named Fredrick G. Hamer vice president of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for all international and domestic sales, and he will supervise all marketing activities including product planning, market development, advertising and sales promotion. He has been with E.F. Johnson for 13 years.
