WALTHAM, Mass.-Reflection Technology Inc. announced it is manufacturing and shipping interface cables to connect its FaxView personal fax reader to Motorola Inc.’s StarTac cellular phone.
Motorola has authorized Reflection, a provider of virtual display technology and wireless messaging, to purchase Motorola’s proprietary data connector for the StarTac phone and approved the company to manufacture peripheral products that work with the diminutive phone.
The company also announced the release of a feature-enriched FaxView that provides new messaging capabilities. Features that previously had been available as custom options, such as one-step mailbox retrieve, clipboard, security password and multilanguage menus, are now standard for all FaxView units shipped.
Reflection’s palm-sized FaxView is a fax machine that works with cellular or landline phones. Weighing less than 8 ounces, FaxView allows the mobile user to receive, read, store and send faxes anywhere, anytime, said the company.
