Stratos Mobile Networks, an international multi-network mobile satellite service provider, is in operation and ready to partner with other network operators and service providers.
Stratos, headed by Chief Executive Officer Derrick Rowe, is the result of three mobile satellite communications operators, -Teleglobe, IDB Mobile and New East Wireless Telecom-coming together.
“We felt the merging of Teleglobe’s Inmarsat activities, IDB Mobile and NewEast Wireless Telecom brought a new synergy that was not accurately reflected by either of the previous entities,” said Rowe. “Given our aggressive plans to expand into other countries through a strategy that takes advantage of both direct and indirect sales opportunities, we also felt a truly international identity was required.”
Stratos said it offers a diverse portfolio of mobile satellite communications services to users in maritime, aeronautical and land industries as well as humanitarian aid organizations and government agencies.
