WALTHAM, Mass.-EDS Personal Communications said Century Cellunet Inc. and Radiofone Inc. will be the first U.S. carriers to use new enhancements of EDS’ core clearinghouse service.
The Air Rate Edit will enable Century and Radiofone to avoid being over-billed by roaming partners due to rate errors. Improperly rated records will be rejected by the system if they exceed the maximum rate.
As an alternative to the Air Rate Edit, Century and Radiofone will be able to use the Air Rate Select Reporting feature, which allows the companies to accept records for the Air Rate Edit and note calls that exceed a maximum rate on an exception report. The carriers’ revenue assurance departments can then detect markets where they are experiencing the highest revenue loss for air rate errors.
