Architel Systems Corp. will provide its Automatic Service Activation Program to L.M. Ericsson for use in Ericsson’s service activation product to allow service providers and network operators to activate service more quickly. According to the agreement, Ericsson will re-license Architel’s ASAP product to purchasers of its telecommunications management product and will provide installation and customization services. Architel’s ASAP software product is used for provisioning of services ranging from basic telephony to enhanced services in the local exchange, long-distance and wireless markets, the company said.

Cellular One announced it is offering four new calling plans and new features in Nebraska, including first minute free on incoming calls. The least expensive plan includes 20 minutes of peak airtime, 20 minutes of off-peak airtime, call waiting, call forwarding, three-way calling, detailed billing and Nebraska Toll-Free, which allows customers to make in-state long-distance calls from their home service area without long-distance fees. The more expensive plans range from $20 per month for 60 minutes each of peak and off-peak airtime to $120 per month for 750 minutes of each. Those plans also include first minute free on incoming calls.

Let’s Talk Cellular & Wireless, a mall-based retailer of wireless products and phones, expanded into Southern California, New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, Denver and Puerto Rico. The company said it will open between five and 15 stores in each market. Nick Molina, president and chief executive officer, said the company will open between 60 and 70 new stores by the end of the year and an additional 100 next year.

ICG Communications Inc. said beginning March 25 it will switch to the Nasdaq National Stock Market, and its common stock will trade under the symbol “ICGX.” ICG Communications’ operations consist of ICG Telecom Group Inc., ICG Fiber Optic Technologies Inc. and ICG Satellite Services Inc. ICG Telecom Group is its CLEC and enhanced services business with markets in California, Ohio, Colorado, Texas and various southeastern regions.

Quantum Communications Group Inc. signed definitive reorganization and funding agreements with Titan Capital Inc. and Ultra Strategic Communications Inc., both based in Alberta, Canada. Quantum, as part of a proposed reorganization, agreed to convert all unpaid fees and expenses into newly issued shares. The company’s management together with a majority shareholder also agreed to sell their shares to Titan, which would give Titan majority ownership. The agreement with Ultra Strategic Communications, a Titan affiliate, calls for USC to fund the testing of Quantum’s antenna technology.
