BUFFALO GROVE, Ill.-Telular Corp. said the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed a lower court’s ruling in the case of Arthur L. Serrano and Andrew W. Holman vs. Telular Corp.
The lower court concluded that Telular Corp.’s patents 4,775,997 and 4,922,517 were valid and infringed by the plaintiffs, said Telular. Serrano and Holman filed a declaratory judgment action against Telular and Spectrum Information Technologies Inc. in February 1994.
The intellectual property consists of a system for interfacing a standard telephone set with a radio transceiver as part of a telephone network, said Telular. The system converts tone-dial or pulse-dial inputs from the telephone into a serial data stream for storage in the transceiver and automatically issues a send signal.
The system responds to incoming call signals, such as alert signals, from the transceiver and rings the telephone accordingly, said the company.
