ERICSSON AIDS CURRICULUM

RICHARDSON, Texas-Ericsson Inc. and the University of Texas at Dallas will jointly develop curriculum for electrical engineers specifically for the wireless telecommunications industry.

Stephen Gibbs, an Ericsson employee of seven years, will teach at the University’s Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, and he will continue to develop an undergraduate curriculum in wireless technology for electrical engineering. Gibbs has taught introductory courses on cellular and personal communications services at the university for two years.

Gibbs currently is teaching an RF system design and cell planning course. Planned future classes include a basic telephony course, which will focus on transmission and switch technologies, and an RF circuit design principles class.
