RICHARDSON, Texas-Ericsson Inc. will conduct the first disaster recovery test of its Emergency Response Unit, an emergency replacement vehicle designed to ensure continuous, high-quality communications in adverse conditions.
The unit can become a temporary Mobile Switching Center and handle up to 100 cell sites. Ericsson said the unit’s on-board central processor can manage the fluctuations of call attempts-in excess of 100,000 busy hour call attempts.
