DES MOINES, Iowa-Iowa Network Services Inc. and Western Wireless Corp. announced a joint venture formed to expand personal communications services throughout Iowa.
Called Iowa Wireless Services L.P., the venture is planned to bring PCS to 2.3 million Iowa residents and will market under the VoiceStream Wireless brand.
Iowa Network Services was created in 1988 when 128 of the state’s independent telephone companies joined together. The company offers long-distance, 800-number, voice messaging, Internet access, fax, paging, video conferencing and cellular switching services.
Western Wireless offers PCS services under its VoiceStream brand in 10 western states and cellular services under the Cellular One brand in 15 western states.
