HOUMA, La.-MobileTel announced the launch of MobileTelePhone, a personal communications services system, in the Louisiana cities of Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary and Assumption parishes.
Equipment for the system was provided by Hughes Network Systems Inc. and Northern Telecom Inc. MobileTel is the wireless branch of SJI Inc. The company also provides cellular and Internet access services.
