ATLANTA-TWS Inc. launched a wireless messaging service called bulletin, which allows subscribers to receive e-mail generated messages on their wireless phone, reply to the sender of the message and forward messages to a fax machine.
The service is a software package that ties into a network operator’s digital message center to forward information to a subscriber’s wireless phone.
It can operate with Global System for Mobile communications, personal communications services 1900, Code Division Multiple Access or Time Division Multiple Access networks.
Other features of bulletin include the ability to receive custom short messages, notification of scheduled meetings and delivery of specialized information on demand directly on a mobile phone, said the company. Subscribers also can receive stock information, sports scores and headline news.
The service is available commercially in one international market, said the company, and it is in trials in the United States. Commercial service is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter.
