ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Metrocall Inc. announced the first step in the regulatory review for its merger with ProNet Inc. has been completed successfully.
The merger has received the necessary antitrust clearance now that the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period has expired.
Applications for the transaction’s approval are still pending at the Federal Communication Commission. Metrocall said it scheduled a shareholder vote on the matter for Dec. 17 and expects the Securities and Exchange Commission’s review of the proxy statement completed in time for its Nov. 4 mailing.
