MANILA, Philippines-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it deployed a Global System for Mobile communications network at 1800 MHz in the Philippines.
The network, which is expected to cover areas of Makati and Quezon City, was built to demonstrate to potential GSM operators Lucent’s GSM 1800 technology for personal communications services and to show how quickly the company can build out a network, said Lucent.
In the coming weeks, Lucent plans to host demonstrations and training seminars for carriers interested in GSM technology.
