ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Metrocall Inc. disclosed a net loss of $13.8 million, or 55 cents per share, in its earnings report for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with a loss of $14.3 million, or 94 cents per share, reported after last year’s third quarter.
The three-month period was fairly eventful for the company, which saw the completion of its PageAmerica acquisition and the announcement of a proposed merger with ProNet Inc.
Subscriber numbers jumped 301,538 to 2.6 million, compared to 1.4 million for the comparable time period last year. Net revenues reached $67.4 million, a 7-percent increase compared with third-quarter revenues last year.
