SINGAPORE-Motorola Inc.’s Asia Pacific Paging Networks Division announced it signed a paging infrastructure contract with Express Telecommunications Co., a regional paging carrier in the central region of Taiwan.
The contract, valued at $1.5 million, is for a FLEX-based multifrequency roaming network on the 280 MHz channel with an initial capacity of 150,000 subscribers. It is scheduled to be commissioned by the first half of next year.
Motorola has a number of FLEX contracts in Asia. China’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has adopted the protocol as its national standard, according to the manufacturer.
