TORONTO-Northern Telecom Ltd. announced several senior management changes intended to strengthen the company in three key areas of its operations.
Jim Long was appointed executive vice president and president of Nortel’s Enterprise Networks, succeeding Rick Faletti, who has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests. Prior to this appointment, Long was executive vice president and group executive, Asia.
As part of Nortel’s drive toward building global lines of business and leveraging its strength of its business worldwide, Clarence Chandran will assume responsibility for Asia, in addition to his role as executive vice president and president of Public Carrier Networks.
David Ball, senior vice president and president of Public Carrier Networks, Europe, will begin a transition toward retirement in 1998. Gary Donahee will be appointed senior vice president and president of Public Carrier Networks, Europe, effective Jan. 1. Ball will continue to serve as vice chairman of Nortel’s board. Donahee’s successor as senior vice president and president, Nortel Caribbean and Latin America region, will be announced the end of the year.
