MEXICO

Corsair Communications Inc. recently completed installation of its radio-frequency fingerprinting system for Baja Celular Mexicana in Tijuana, and for Celular de Telefonia in Monterrey, the company announced. Corsair will provide fraud protection for the two companies with its PhonePrint Service Bureau program. Under the terms of the program, Corsair will install, operate and maintain the PhonePrint systems and provide protection in other PhonePrint markets. Expanding protection into the Baja Celular and Celular de Telefonia markets significantly increases the system’s roaming coverage in northern Mexico, Corsair said.

Under the contract with PTT Telecom Mobile Network Services, Glenayre will replace the network’s control system with its GL-C2010 transmitter controller. The contract is the first project under a new frame agreement intended to formalize the strategic collaboration between Glenayre and PTT Telecom. “Glenayre will help ensure that PTT Telecom meets European and international standardization without major capital expense,” said Ben Bos, director of operations for PTT Telecom. Providing coverage throughout the Netherlands, the network consists of more than 300 base stations. Glenayre will begin installation this month and expects to complete the project without interrupting commercial service.
