TTC RELEASES CLIENT/SERVER-BASED TEST SOFTWARE

GERMANTOWN, Md.-Telecommunications Techniques Corp. plans this quarter to release new test software that is client/server-based, enabling carriers to test their entire network from the network operators center. The product is designed to allow companies to provision rapidly and troubleshoot deployed networks, according to TTC.

“NetAnalyst is uniquely designed to help telecommunications service providers competitively increase speed to market, improve quality of service and reduce operating costs,” said Alan Meyers, product marketing manager for TTC’s Systems and Software Division. “NetAnalyst customers will quickly realize return on investment from decreased technician dispatch, centralized test automation and faster service and circuit turn-ups.”

Features of the tester include:

object-oriented software technology for network test management;

intrusive and non-intrusive testing capability via the tester’s Telecommunications Management Network- and CORBA-based test manager software; and

proactive remote test capabilities through a graphical user interface.

The NetAnalyst software automatically “learns” the test resources of any network test head and displays the appropriate test head-specific options to the users, said the company, so the software can remotely manage any TTC CENTEST 650 or rack-mounted portable.

According to TTC, the product is designed to grow with the service provider’s business.

The entry-level configuration of NetAnalyst allows service providers to eliminate the server hardware by loading the NetAnalyst software directly on the CENTEST 650 test head. This option, called integrated configuration, provides a growth path to the traditional client/server configuration, said TTC.
