BEIJING-Glenayre Technologies Inc. said it signed a $9.6-million contract with Shandong Provincial Posts and Telecommunications Administration to expand Shandong’s high-speed paging network.
Under terms of the contract, Glenayre’s 280 MHz paging infrastructure will be installed in 13 additional cities. The expansion is expected to be completed in July, at which time the network will provide coverage to all 17 cities of Shandong province, serving a population of 87 million people, said Glenayre.
When complete, Shandong’s network will be incorporated into China’s nationwide paging network operated by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.
