STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson announced it received a contract valued at more than $60 million to expand a Global System for Mobile communications network in Serbia, Republic of Yugoslavia.
Under terms of the contract, Ericsson will install its PrePaid Light system, a prepaid wireless solution that offers intelligent network functionality and is designed to work with the existing customer care system. The company also intends to deliver its micro base stations, base station controllers and mobile services switching center.
“With the expansion of our network by Ericsson, we expect to be able to reach 95 percent of our population by the end of this year,” said Sreten Karic, general director of Mobilne Telekomunikacije “Srbija” BK-PTT, or Mobtel.
