LONDON-The ERMES MoU Association, formerly called ERMES MoU, celebrated its new status as a legal entity with the launch of an ERMES paging system in Sweden, by telecom provider Telia, and by adding a new member to its ranks.
Telia launched the numeric and alphanumeric commercial service, called Minicall Broadcast, to coincide with the World Cup, offering paging and information services, including sports results. It is the latest of seven ERMES launches in the last four months, the group said.
Page+ of Belgium was welcomed as a new member of the ERMES MoU group. Page+ owns paging operator Multipage and paging manufacturer Acyclon Electronics. It was granted an ERMES license this month.
