MENLO PARK, Calif.-Nuance Communications said it will provide its natural language speech-recognition technology to Motorola Inc. for its upcoming speech-enabled service code-named Myosphere.
Nuance 6 allows users to speak to devices like they talk to people. For example, instructions such as, “call Ann in her car,” or, “page my husband,” could be given and translated by Nuance 6 using advanced linguistic and statistical models.
Myosphere, meaning “my world,” is designed to help people manage and control their wireline and wireless communications from a single platform.
The speech-recognition service also gives customers the ability to make multiple calls, send pages and access online information by dialing a toll-free number.
Myosphere is in trials with several communications providers and is set to be the first product offering from the new Internet and Connectivity Services Division of Motorola, said Nuance.
