GERMANTOWN, Md.-Hughes Network Systems, a provider of very small aperture terminals, announced Ghana Telecom has purchased an HNS shared-hub satellite system.
The hub will be located at the earth station in Accra, Ghana, using the space segment from the Intelsat 603 satellite located at 335.5 degrees, said Hughes. The hub provides a network solution for data/voice networks with low-cost data links between corporate headquarters and remote sites and full-mesh, demand-assigned voice links for intranetwork voice/fax connections, said the company.
The network is expected to become operational this year.
