AKRON, Ohio-Best Buy awarded Telxon Corp. a contract valued at about $4 million to install mobile computers, portable printers and spread-spectrum wireless networks in its more than 300 retail stores, Telxon said.
The contract includes wireless network hardware, installation, more than 900 Telxon PTC-960SL wireless mobile computers, portable printers and a long-term service agreement.
Best Buy will use the mobile computing system to wirelessly communicate real-time inventory, pricing and sales information to and from in-store and corporate enterprise systems, said Telxon.
