Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. is offering high-speed Internet services to businesses in the
Phoenix metropolitan area. More than 25 companies in the Phoenix area have signed contracts with ART. The offering
combines a high-speed connection to the Internet or company intranet with enhanced services such as e-mail, Web-
hosting, Internet Protocol-Fax and domain name registration so businesses can one-stop shop for data services, said
ART.

Motorola Inc. and Phoenix-based America West Airlines announced the installation of a new Motorola two-
way radio system that will be used in all America West ground operations at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International
Airport. The Motorola GTX system with PrivacyPlus incorporates 500 mobile and portable units. A host of airline
personnel will use the system. This 10-channel two-way system provides greater capacity than the airline’s current five-
channel system by reducing busy signals and enabling ground crews to communicate more effectively, said
Motorola.

TelePad Corp. announced plans to install Cerulean Technology’s PacketCluster wireless data bundle for
the Cedar Park, Texas Police Department. TelePad was awarded $83,000 from the department to integrate the
technology. The company also will train officers in the PacketCluster system, a Cellular Digital Packet Data-based
wireless system. Airtime is provided by GTE Wireless.

Airadigm Communications Inc. announced its subsidiary,
Einstein PCS, now allows people to buy phones and sign up for phone service over the Internet at
www.einsteinpcs.com/estore. “The e-store lets consumers sit in the comfort of their own homes of offices and
click their way through six easy steps to design the Einstein PCS package that fits their business and lifestyle,”
said Carl Artman, executive vice president for Airadigm.

MountainTel announced it became the first U.S. operator
to deploy fixed wireless service at 3.5 GHz using a Nortel Networks Proximity I fixed wireless access solution. Under
an experimental license granted by the Federal Communications Commission, MountainTel plans to provide service to
selected residential and small business customers in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community adjacent to
Scottsdale, Ariz.
