LISLE, Ill.-Tellabs announced its echo cancellation original equipment manufacturer division,
Coherent, won a $3 million, three-year global contract with Nortel Networks to provide its echo canceller
technology.
“With technology from Tellabs’ Coherent OEM division integrated into our Digital Multiple
Switch Spectrum Peripheral Module, we can offer unprecedented Optical Carrier level-3 echo cancellation,” said
Carmine Ciancibello, development manager for open slot technology at Nortel Networks.
The DMS SPM echo
canceller simultaneously can process 336 channels of voice, data and multimedia information per Echo Canceller
Resource Module board.
