MINNEAPOLIS-ADC Telecommunications Inc. announced it signed a three-year vendor
agreement with Qualcomm Inc. for its NewNet wireless messaging products, SMserver short messaging service and the
OTAserver over-the-air activation product.
ADC said the SMserver software manages transmission of text
messages to mobile handsets, providing subscribers with voice-mail notification, pages and custom short text messages.
ADC’s NewNet OTAserver software accepts, manages and ensures reliable completion of subscriber authentication and
roaming list update services.
Qualcomm plans to use the products in it Code Division Multiple Access digital
wireless networks, said ADC.
