BOULDER,Colo.-SCC Communications Corp. said it plans to offer its InfoConnect suite of
location-based services to wireless carriers.
Applications of InfoConnect include localized traffic and weather
updates and emergency roadside services.
The InfoConnect product combines SignalSoft Corp.’s local.info software
product with SCC’s National Data Service Center, which provides a database management service for wireless
carriers.
SCC also announced it has successfully completed a trial of Phase II enhanced 911 with Integrated Data
Communications Inc. in Seattle. IDC provided global positioning system-equipped cellular phones for the trial. The
trial involved 911 calls placed from vehicles traveling on Interstate 5, which runs through the heart of Seattle, said
SCC. Locations were determined with accuracies of as close as 40 feet, said the company.
