division a $6.1 million contract to provide infrastructure and construction improvements for the 10 buildings on the

The law firm of Beatie and
Osborne L.L.P. said it started a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all people and entities that purchased, leased or
acquired non year-2000 compliant telecommunications equipment from Lucent Technologies Inc. and AT&T Corp.
The complaint alleges, among other things, that Lucent and AT&T violated consumer protection laws and breached
warranties. The lawsuit claims Lucent and AT&T allegedly have known about the Y2K problem since the 1980s but
have continued to sell non-Y2K compliant products without disclosing the defect to their customers. Beatie and
Osborne L.L.P. said Lucent and AT&T have filed court papers seeking to dismiss the lawsuit because the proposed
class has not yet suffered any damages.

Telesystem International Wireless Inc. said its European enhanced

handset purchase agreements, valued at more than $400 million, to deploy a network in Germany and as many as
400,000 TETRA handsets.

In an effort to satisfy its near-term capital requirements, U.S. Wireless Data Inc.

announced Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Roger Peirce resigned for personal reasons. The board of directors is
actively seeking a replacement, said the company.
