LONDON-In response to staff requests and changes in company structure, Hongkong Telecom said it has begun a voluntary exit program for approximately 4,000 of its employees in the customer-service and network operations departments.
Eligible employees who return their applications by May 3 and are approved will receive an ex-gratia payment based on their length of service in addition to other payments and benefits in accordance with the company’s employment ordinance.
The approval of any application will be at the discretion of the company, taking into consideration business requirements and the employee’s balance of skills and experience, said Hongkong Telecom.
