The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions launched its enhanced Web site and home page-www.atis.org-designed to serve as a centralized location for daily updates on the work of ATIS-sponsored committees and forums. The site features daily updates of activities, a New ATIS Member Services section, a Key Challenges section-which identifies the industry’s top issues, improved access and archived press information.
DeLeon Industries Inc., a Northeast-based installer of telecommunication sites, announced it added an antenna and tower division to its present operation. “By assuming responsibility of the construction sites from beginning to end we will be able to provide our customers with more efficient service and better prices,” said Edward Lynch, DeLeon Industries’ president.
Nettech Systems Inc. announced several upgrades to its RFexpress middleware and changed the product’s name to ExpressQ 3.0. The mobile middleware platform enables corporate developers and software vendors to extend enterprise applications over all major wireless and wireline networks, the company said. Upgrades to the product have added support for one- and two-way pagers using the RPA Gateway, such as the Inter@ctive 950 from Research in Motion Ltd., as well as the addition of encryption security features and other performance improvements.
Ripple Technologies Inc. announced it joined SkyTel Communications Inc.’s Business Alliance initiative. The program was designed to let vendors leverage SkyTel’s networks and brand name as part of their own products and services. Ripple develops enterprise management system solutions. Ripple said it will integrate its LogCaster 2.0 networking monitoring software with SkyTel’s SDK software developers kit to write software applications that interact with SkyTel’s one- and two-way network. The solution will allow users to receive monitoring alerts directly on their SkyTel pager.
LaBarge Clayco Wireless L.L.C. announced Iowa Wireless selected the company in a $1 million deal to supply 50 shelters to house Iowa Wireless’ transmitting and receiving radios. Work on the first buildings will begin this month, with delivery slated for mid-spring.
