In the May 10 issue of RCR, the device used with American Mobile Satellite Corp.’s new eLink service should have been identified as the RIM 850 from Research In Motion Ltd.
RIM makes both the 950 Interactive Pager and the 850, essentially the same device with different software. The 950 operates on BellSouth Wireless Data L.L.P.’s Mobitex network, while the 850 is optimized for AMSC’s Ardis network.
The Panhandle Telephone Cooperative is headquartered in Guyman, Okla. The company was featured in RCR’s April 26 focus on rural wireless markets.
